What happens to stray animals after they’re picked up?
When we pick up a stray dog we check the animal for a tag or microchip. Our goal is to reunite lost dogs with their owners as quickly as possible. In the event we cannot locate the owners, the stray dog is taken to Maricopa county animal control, located at 2500 S. 35th Avenue in Phoenix, where they will be held an additional 72 hours to give the owner a chance to claim their pet.
